A Shift to Safety due to the Spread of COVID-19, We Are Temporarily Closing Our Hope Center
From our Founders & CEO, Eric & Shawana Myhre
Dear URBANLIFE Community,
With COVID-19 declared a global pandemic, to protect our communities, team, and guests, we have made the very difficult decision to temporarily close our WEST OAKLAND HOPE CENTER until further notice. While we wish we could remain open to offer you a safe haven in these uncertain times, we simply do not have the benefit of enough information to ensure our public space is safe. So we are doing what we know is right in the moment.
We are closely monitoring this situation and look forward to welcoming everyone back just as soon as we can. For now, we encourage everyone to stay at home with loved ones and to keep kindness at the forefront of our lives, so that together we can help flatten the curve of this spread. In the meantime, our profound thanks goes out to all in the medical community who are battling this virus on the front lines as well as other organizations such as ours that are caring for people within the current restrictions. We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience, care, and understanding.
HOW TO STAY CONNECTED
We are still connecting over social platforms for a fun, encouraging and safe virtual community. We are still creating resources to help engage our youth during this time at home (IG, Zoom & Google). We are still caring for the youth we mentor in East and West Oakland by putting together care packages that will be able to be delivered to the youth at their homes.
We Welcome 10yrs - 19yrs of Age
On June 15th, 2019 we opened our new space in the Lower Bottoms neighborhood of West Oakland. Many thanks to all the people who supported us and came out to the event. We'd also like to thank the entire Clorox team who made the #WhatComesNextProject possible! Follow us @urbanlifementors #urbanlifementors #hopeoakland #wementor
